Abstract
•Dyna-CLUE model combined with a Markov model was applied to simulate future land system change.•The method of three map comparison was used to validate the simulation model.•Three scenarios were designed including business as usual (BAU), cropland protection (CP) and ecological security (ES).•The land use mode under ES scenario might be the optimal solution for coordinated development of the BTH region.
