Abstract
Adult women who present for emergency care after sexual assault (SA) are often socioeconomically disadvantaged, with limited access to mental health services. Posttraumatic stress (PTS) symptoms are common in SA survivors, and in community-based studies of SA survivors have been associated with chemical coping/substance use.
