Ecosystem services as a resilience descriptor in habitat risk assessment using the InVEST model

•A modified InVEST/HRA model adding ES abundance as a resilience descriptor is applied.•The modified HRA provides results significantly different from the non-modified model.•The new HRA model is significantly different from other risk assessment approaches.•Improving management effectiveness decreases seagrass and saltmarsh habitats’ risk.•Sea level change contributes to the largest area percentage under high risk.•The resilience component from the InVEST/HRA model is flexible.
