A high-order/low-order (HOLO) algorithm for preserving conservation in time-dependent low-rank transport calculations

•A low-rank method is used to compute a closure in radiative transfer simulations.•The discontinuous Galerkin method for spatial discretization is implemented.•The proposed scheme preserves the computational efficiency and mass conservation.
