[Neuroendocrine Neoplasia of the digestive tract].

Neuroendocrine neoplasia are a rare and heterogenous tumor entity with long median survival even in metastatic situation. Surgery is the key therapeutic option although a wide range of other therapies are available in metastatic situation. Milestones in classification and grading were achieved by the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) leading to practical guidelines and WHO- and TNM-classification comparable to the colorectal carcinoma. These new guidelines enable the handling of a rare and complex tumor entity.
