Abstract
In the present study two granulometrycally different portions of a same urban sludge were considered. After suitable fractionation, the two portions were characterized by thermogravimetry, elemental analysis, IR and C-13-NMR spectroscopy. The leaching of some metals (copper, zinc, lead and manganese) from them was evaluated by means of a column test. The results of the leaching tests (different for the two fractions) were finally correlated with the structural characteristics of the two portions.
