Abstract
•Even healthy, pigs and sheep are suitable models to evaluate tricuspid valve implants.•Dogs are not an appropriate animal model, subvalvular triscupid anatomy is different.•Pigs offer a wide range of tricuspid annulus circumferences.•Pigs are of interest in short-term study, large sheep are suitable for long-term ones.•In sheep models there is always a large moderator band close to the tricuspid valve.
