Pharmacotherapy of asthma

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder associated with airflow obstruction and airway hyperreactivity. Asthma should be understood as a complex syndrome with many different clinical phenotypes. Goals of modern medical therapy are the control of the disease and no impairment in daily life. In the present article we summarize the actual recommended pharmacotherapy for patients with asthma.
