Abstract
The invention discloses a polymer quenching medium for cooling a thermal shock experiment of a ceramic material. The polymer quenching medium is composed of water-soluble polymers with the content greater than 0% and smaller than or equal to 50% and the balance water. According to the polymer quenching medium, the shortcomings that when water is used as a quenching agent for cooling, the temperature gradient and the quenching stress of work-pieces are large due to the facts that the cooling speed is high and cooling is not uniform, and the thermal shock resistance of the material is lower than that in an actual service environment are overcome, and the shortcomings that traditional quenching oil is low in cooling speed and cannot cause thermal shock failures on the material under the conventional heat treatment condition, so that the corresponding thermal shock resistance is difficult to research, and the traditional quenching oil is inflammable are overcome. The cooling speed of the quenching medium can be adjusted by changing the concentration according to needs so that the thermal shock resistance of the material at different service temperatures can be studied. By using the quenching medium, a stable polymer layer or a polymer-rich layer is formed on the surface of a sample, so that the heat is uniformly transmitted, and the environment is closer to the actual service environment of the material. In addition, the polymer quenching medium is environment-friendly and non-toxic, is not prone to be aged, and has great popularization value and practicability.
