CALCULATING THE SIZE OF POTENTIAL OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

The aim of our paper is to introduce the method by which the authors believe allows an objective comparison of the size of potential anthropogenic sphere of individual regions or other territorial units. The method is directed to the central lists of monuments. Specifically, the lists of world heritage monuments by UNESCO, urban heritage reserves (MPR), rural monument reserve (VPR), urban heritage zones (MPZ), village monument zones (VPZ) and the national cultural monuments (NKP). The mathematical method of coefficient was calculated for each type of monuments, and subsequently established the potential of cultural sites for each region. Using this method has been discussed with experts on heritage preservation with experts on tourism. In addition, we contacted 15 professors and associate professors of geography dealing with tourism with the request to conduct their own evaluations. The results of their evaluation of our method and showed significant concordance.
