Abstract
The advancement of renewable energy sources (RESs) and the integration of electrical vehicles (EVs) into the traditional power grid have both dramatically grown in recent years. The control and management of the interconnected energy system has become a complicated task with respect to achieving sustainable stability and dependability due to the power system evolution brought about by strategies to expand powers electronic conversion tools (RESs such as wind and solar photovoltaic (PV). Due to the dynamic behavior of conversion tool renewable sources and electric vehicles differing from that of conventional generation, power systems are now faced with a number of new stability challenges. In order to improve system performance, critical stability concerns relating to rotor angle stability, voltage stability, and resonance stability are addressed in this paper's comprehensive and up-to-date overview of STATCOM control in wind, PV, and/or EV-interfaced power systems.
