Remote Sensing Data Analysis for Structural Information of Active Faults

Exploring active faults in urban areas and their geological surroundings is a crucial issue on earthquake disaster mitigation. Satellite remote sensing techniques can play an important role in active faults exploration (e.g. express the panorama of active faults and active tectonics from a macroscopic view, monitor the occurrence, development of active faults). In this paper, approaches to extract active faults information which is covered by Quaternary unconsolidated sediment were tested in a study area of Hangzhou, China.
