Evaluation of the short-term results of closed reduction and percutaneous K-wires fixation of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures (DIACF)

•Closed reduction and percutaneous fixation showed acceptable functional and radiographic short-term outcomes.•Using K-wires for fixation proved stability and maintenance of fixation.•Optional lateral stab incision for instruments introduction to help with articular surface elevation.•Subtalar arthritis negatively affects clinical outcomes.
