Abstract
•A number of Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) show benefit in the treatment of advance NSCLC patients receiving chemotherapy.•A total of 1,451 participants (739 received CHMs, and 712 received chemotherapy alone) from 14 articles were selected form 7 databases in the study.•Meta-analyses suggest that CHMs have the potential to improve clinical effectiveness, quality of life, and survival time.
