MORPHOANATOMICAL DESCRIPTION OF LEAVES GLANDS TYPES IN THE WHITE MANGROVE Laguncularia racemosa (L.) Gaertn (f.)

Laguncularia racemosa is a species characteristic of mangroves of the Neotropic. The leaves of this species present diverse glandular structures, slightly common characteristic in arboreal species and less still in species of mangrove forest. In this work we are described morphoanatomically the leaf blade glands by scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The presence of diverse glands might assume to a complex adjustment or mechanism of response of the species to the halophytic ecosystems.
