摘要
Staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA), a superantigen produced by Staphylococcus aureus, is a potent activator of immune cells. Many studies have reported SEA played a critical role in anti-tumor activity. However, the role of SEA in cancer progress remains unknown. In this study, we overexpressed SEA in human bladder cancer cell lines and assessed the role of SEA in cancer progression, including cell survival, cell cycle, cell apoptosis, cell migration, cell invasion and colony information. Our results showed that overexpression of SEA significantly inhibited human bladder cancer cells survival via inducing G2/M phase arrest. In transweill assay, overexpression of SEA significantly suppressed human bladder cancer cells migration and invasion. Based on colony information assay, we found overexpression of SEA dramatically inhibited the ability of colony information in human bladder cancer cells. Taken together, these results indicated that SEA could serve as a tumor suppressor and maybe a potential target for treatment of human bladder cancer.
