Study on exploration methods combination for porphyry- and skarn-type metal ore deposit in Zhashui-Shanyang concentration area

Shanyang-Zhahui ore concentration area is characterized by serious tectomagmatic activity and outstanding mineralization. Neoproterozoic, Late Triassic, and Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous magmanism and related porphyry-skarn type copper-gold-iron polymetallic deposits widespread in this area. The prospecting methods for those deposits are different in disparate exploration stage. During the target selected phase, the major prospecting method is stream sediment survey in 1 : 50000 scale on the base of synthetical research in order to quickly identify target section or mineralized belt, combining with the methods of 1 : 100000 aeromagnetic interpretation or high-precision magnetic survey in 1 : 50000 scale, and testing each other by geological and geochemical profile and IP/magnetic profile methods. However, on the base a geological mapping in 1 : 10000 similar to 1 : 2000 scale, the large scale interpretation of remote sensing and extracting the information of alteration, we can use the combination methods of soil normal network measurement, high precision of magnetic survey or IP scanning in 1 : 10000 or 1 : 5000 scale, CSAMT, ASD, and geology-geochemistry-geophysics integrated composite section to confirm ore-bearing district, and to recourse and dealineate ore or mineralized bodies still furthermore according to engineering validation control during the stage of reconnaissance and evaluation. The Chigou copper-molybdenum ore occurrence, Lengshuigou copper ore occurrence and Baishagou gold ore occurrence have been discovered by this way in Zhashui-Shanyang concentration area.
