Abstract
In order to solve the contradiction of bandwidth narrowing and gain reduction caused by miniaturization of micro strip patch antenna, this paper designs a novel miniaturized wideband micro strip antenna by combining slotting on radiation patch with slotting on ground plate. The miniaturization of the antenna is achieved by opening the double T-slots on the patch and optimized by opening the double U-grooves on the ground plate, not only significantly widening the bandwidth of the antenna, but also effectively increasing the gain of the antenna. The simulation results show that the antenna size is reduced by 48.83% compared with the original theoretical value at the center frequency of 2.45GHz. Compared with the pre-optimization, the relative bandwidth of the optimized antenna is extended from 1.63% to 9.39%, and the gain is increased from -1.08dB to 2.47dB, to achieve a good overall performance. The antenna has the advantages of low profile, simple structure, easy fabrication, low cost and good application prospect.
