Microscopic examination of rejuvenated binders with high reclaimed asphalts

•Morphological and stiffness of asphalt binders with high reclaimed asphalts were evaluated.•An Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) was used to evaluate nanoscale properties.•Rejuvenators are very effective to reduce the hardness of stiff asphalt binders.•The effects of rejuvenator are seen in the surface images obtained from the AFM.•Modulus values of stiff binders reduce significantly when rejuvenators are used.
