First Record Sheds Light On The Distribution Of The Cyprinodontiform Genusjenynsia(Gunther, 1866) In The High Andean Plateau
JOURNAL OF FISH BIOLOGY(2020)
摘要
This is the first record of the genusJenynsiain the High Andean Plateau (HAP). It has been found at elevations between 3400 and 3900 m in three endorreheic systems: Salar Antofalla, Antofagasta de la Sierra and El Penon, northwestern Argentina, South America. This finding increases the number of known HAP fish genera to five. Furthermore, in contrast to the old Andean species-rich genusOrestias, the presence ofJenynsia obscurapopulations in young high-altitude, non-marine saline wetlands reported here supports a recent dispersal into the HAP.
