Polarized Radio Emission in the Southern Galactic Cap

We used data from the Murchison Widefield Array to create texturized plots of the magnitude and direction of linearly polarized diffuse radio emission in the southern galactic cap. Mapping this diffuse polarized radio emission will allow us to remove it from our overall radio emission profile and help us to detect 21 cm emission from the Epoch of Reionization. We found that our plots were qualitatively similar to diffuse emission plots done at other frequencies that represent polarization structures in the Galaxy. Quantitative multi-frequency comparisons are underway.
