Smartphone digital image colorimetry combined with solidification of floating organic drop-dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for the determination of iodate in table salt

•SFOD-DLLME-SDIC is proposed for the determination of iodate in table salt.•The proposed method reduced organic solvents and extraction time significantly.•The proposed method reduced the analysis to almost zero price.•SFOD-DLLME-SDIC offered several advantages over other existing methods.•SFOD-DLLME-SDIC is applicable to a wide range of analytes in several samples.
