European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation Risk Score Predicts the Outcome of Patients with Acute Leukemia Receiving Single Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation

•This is the first study to investigate the association between the EBMT risk score and the outcomes of acute leukemia patients who received sUCBT.•The EBMT risk score could be used to predict outcomes of acute leukemia patients after sUCBT.•The modified sUCBT-EBMT risk score could serve as a powerful tool in estimating acute leukemia patient outcomes who received sUCBT and had markedly increased discriminative properties when compared with the original EBMT risk score as indicated by a substantially lower P values.
