The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry(2020)
Abstract
•Primary Question: What are the experiences and needs of caregivers of persons with dementia in India during the COVID-19 pandemic?•Main finding: Caregivers of persons with dementia during the pandemic experience a set of unique issues that directly related to their care-giving role and another set of issues that did not directly relate to their care-giving role. These contribute to the immediate and long-term needs of the caregivers.•Meaning of the finding: Interventions for caregivers of persons with dementia during the pandemic should be pragmatic and multilayered, and should address both their immediate and long-term needs.
