Radiomics technology for identifying early-stage lung adenocarcinomas suitable for sublobar resection

Semiautomated objective discrimination of less-invasive lung adenocarcinomas that are suitable for sublobar resection can be achieved with high performance (area under the curve = 0.9) by applying voxel-based histogram analysis (VHA) to 3-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) images. This method can assist surgeons decide on the appropriate surgical procedure: lobectomy or sublobar resection. 2D, 2 dimensional; GGO, ground-glass opacity; AUC, area under the curve; VHA, voxel-based histogram analysis.
