Abstract
Dielectric and ferroelectric properties of Polyvinylidene fluoride with trifluoroethylene, P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer thin films were prepared using spin coating technique at elevated temperature. High boiling point and high dielectric constant of Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent was being used in order to prepare β phase dominant ferroelectric thin films. Annealing process has induced the crystallinity of thin films and increased the β phase content. The remanent polarization of P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer thin films is 100 mC/m and the pyroelectric constant is 70 μC/mK which is due to high percentage of crystallinity and β phase content as evidenced by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy analysis.
