Abstract
The beet moth was first discovered in the territory of the former Czechoslovakia in 1952. It gradually spread to Slovakia where it caused significant economic damage. In the Czech Republic, on the other hand, economically significant damage has only been detected in the last decade. It can be assumed that its importance will increase in future as its presence has been detected in the wild.
