Surfactant Instillation Alone Is As Effective As Surfactant Lavage Followed By Instillation In Experimental Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Conclusions: RhKGF increases surfactant pools in LLF of immature lungs as BM does, but without catabolic side effects. In mature alveolarized lungs neither drug has an effect on its own, but the combination increases surfactant pools. RhKGF does not interfere with lipid homeostasis and might be useful in neonatal intensive care.
