Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Alpha Stimulation Favors An Antioxidant And Vasodilator Environment In An Aortic Coarctation-Induced Stressed Left Ventricle

Objective: Our group previously reported that Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR )-stimulation lowered blood pressure in aortic coarctation rats through an antioxidant an vasodilator mechanism, but the effect on the stressed heart has not been studied. Our objetive is analyze the effect of PPAR stimulation in the left ventricle of aortic coarctation-induced hypertensive rats on the activity of renin-angiotensin system and the production of ROS.
