摘要
The present study was conducted in the Experimental Field Area of Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan during cropping season of 2011. Heritability was found in the range of 79.30-99.99%, while genetic advance was from 3.06-113.418%. It was concluded that higher heritability and genetic advance was found for plant height, stem diameter, leaves weight, stem weight, green fodder yield, leaves/stem weight ratio, leaf length, leaf area, photosynthetic rate, stomata conductance, transpiration rate and sub-stomata CO2 concentration. Significant, positive genotypic and phenotypic correlation of green fodder yield was found with chlorophyll contents, number of leaves per plant, plant height, stem diameter, leaves weight, photosynthetic rate, leaf temperature, stem weight, leaf length, leaf width and leaf area. It was suggested that selection of higher yielding fodder genotypes may be helpful to enhance crop yield and productivity.
