Severe dengue virus (DENV) infections are characterized by a cascade of cytokine production including TNF and LTA. We have analyzed a variety of polymorphisms in the TNF and LTA genes of 435 ethnic Thais with subclinical DENV infection, primary and secondary dengue fever (DF), and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
