Bitcoin ile Dünya ve Türkiye ’ deki Dijital Para Çalışmaları Üzerine Bir İnceleme Merve Can

With the emergence of payments, money transfers and trading on the Internet, the concept of digital cash has entered our lives. Digital cash models which include central authorities are proposed, as well as the distributed models with the use of cryptographic structures. Bitcoin, the first distributed digital currency and payment system which was proposed in 2008, has been a pioneer in this field and still dominates the digital market capitalization in the world. Although the involved risks and the difficulties in regulating of Bitcoin include many controversial issues, the studies on digital cash continue at an accelerating pace both in the academic world as well as in the banking and finance sectors. In parallel with the studies in the world, the concept of "electronic money" has entered into law in Turkey in 2013, and although Bitcoin has not been accepted as electronic money, various payment institutions have entered the field. In this study, Bitcoin is introduced and its mechanism is explained, then the studies and regulations in the field of digital cash in the world and Turkey are examined.
