Abstract
In this paper, an improved masking signal method is proposed to deal with the mode mixing problem caused by a high frequency intermittent event. First, the high frequency components in the first order intrinsic mode function (IMF) is found by the time characteristic smoothness. And then, constructing a new masking signal based on the acquired high frequency signal. The new masking signal method is used to eliminate the mode mixing problem. Through the result of the simulation signal and actual signal show that the improved masking signal method has a good effect on the mode mixing problem which is caused by the intermittent event.
