Garut has a long coastline (approximately 80 km), its fishing ground spans about 28,560 km2. Cilauteureun waters in Garut receive lots of organic material inputs from river nearby and from byproducts of the Cilauteureun Fish Auction House (TPI) which is the largest TPI in Garut. Water samples were acquired from 9 different sampling points. Levels of the compounds were analyzed using different methods, specifically SNI 06-7931991 method (APHA 4500 No.3 Th. 1992) for nitrate and SNI 06-6989.9-2004 method for nitrite.Horizontal distribution of nitrate and nitrite when high tide occurs was dominant to the Northwest and by a small portion goes to the West. At low tide, the current flows from North to South, and when the current meets Santolo Island, it turned to Northwest and Southeast. The result of statistical analysis showed that the levels of nitrate and nitrite in Cilauteureun waters were the same during high tide and low tide, because the concentration differences were very small.
