Security for the Collective Reality of the Smart Home

A single end user will struggle to configure a single “smart” device. However, the problem of securing the smart home is often exponentially worse due to the existence of multiple users, multiple devices, and the complex web of interconnections among these users and smart home devices. In this paper, we enumerate three key challenges and their subchallenges, which emerge when we consider this collective reality.
