摘要
MASTER DISSERTATION IN BIOLOGIA PARASITÁRIA Beatriz Elise de Andrade Silva The Amazon rainforest is considered one of the 34 "hotspots" of biodiversity in the world, but it is a very little studied environment. knowing the diversity of parasitic helminths in the Amazon is important not only for the registration of new species, but also to add data to the biology of the host Mesomys hispidus, which is an arboreal rodent of the Echimyidae family, endemic to the Amazon. Nematodes are very difficult to identify because they are a very diverse group and have a heterogeneous evolutionary history. The classification study based only on morphological characteristics with the passage of time has become inconsiderable. With the progress of molecular techniques new methods of taxonomic analysis were introduced, thus arising the integrative taxonomy that uses several laboratory techniques for the identification of nematodes. The objective of this work was to describe gastrointestinal nematodes of M. hispidus collected in the brazilian Amazon in the state of Acre. In six expeditions, carried out between 2014 and 2016, in the brazilian Amazon in the state of Acre in three different areas, it was possible to collect M. hispidus rodent and consequently its helminths. In this work we found five specimens of M. hispidus parasitized with two different helminth species. For taxonomic identification we used two different techniques: optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy that helped us to identify the species Helminthoxys freitasi and Boehmiella wilsoni. After was made the molecular identification of the species, since so far, had not been described. Posteriorly identification, phylogeny was proposed to clarify the relationships of these helminths. Based on morphological and phylogenetic analyzes, the relationship between the genus Helminthoxys and the genus Wellcomia was confirmed. For the genus Boehmiella it was proposed the creation of a new family, Boehmiellidae, for allo-ló, since through the molecular and morphological analyzes we observed that this genus did not fit within the family Haemonchidae. With this study we can add new geographic distributions for the two species studied, in addition to describing M. hispidus as a new host for both species.
