Abstract
In some biomedical signals, such as the EEG, it is possible to verify gaussianity characteristics, that is, behaviors characteristic of random variables with normal distribution. The aim of this study is to test Gaussianity through EEG records collected from comatose and healthy individuals. For this, 39 comatose signals and 100 healthy group signals were used in which, through the Jarque-Bera test, Gaussian characteristics were estimated. The main findings are related to the window size for analysis of the EEG signal, and for about two seconds of analysis, both the comatose EEG signal and the control present gaussianity characteristics.
