Lee, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN 47405 USA Abstract We report a design of the 230 MeV proton accelerator, the Xi’an Proton Application Facility (XiPAF), which will be located in Xi’an city, China. The facility will provide proton beam with the maximum energy of 230 MeV for the research of the single event effect. The facility, composed of a 230 MeV synchrotron, a 7 MeV H linac injector and two experimental stations, will provide a flux of 10~10 p/cm/s with the uniformity of better than 90% on the 10 cm×10 cm sample.
