Abstract
Here we present a small multispectral light field camera configuration which employs parfocal lenses and benefits from the spatial resolution of focused plenoptic cameras while exhibiting low angular bias. Moreover, our light field camera can be viewed as a compound of a perspective lens that transfers the light field on to a microlens array which acts as a multiview stereo device where each of these views corresponds to a wavelength indexed band in the multispectral image. The combination of plenoptics with multispectral imaging delivers a promising advanced 3D imaging platform which has multiple applications in environmental management, agriculture and chemical imaging of complex scenes.
