Abstract
•The galvanic corrosion of Type 316L SS coupled to graphite in molten FliNaK has been explored.•Corrosion of the steel is driven by the coupled graphite.•Moisture resulting in the formation oh HF and H + is the cathodic depolarizer.•Galvanic corrosion has been interpreted in terms of electrochemical kinetics.
