Research progress on in-situ protection status and technology of earthen sites in moisty environment

•Considering the damage problems of earthen sites in moisture environment, this paper demonstrates the applicable scope and advantages and disadvantages of different types of methods.•The mechanism and specific materials for in-situ protection technology of earthen sites in moisture environment are innovatively expounded.•An efficient and appropriate drainage and waterproofing mechanism are established in the earthen site.
