Abstract
Wheat is the most important cereal grain crop in the world and is an important dietary nutritional source. High genetic variability is the pre-requisite for the genetic improvement of traits. Yield and yield components can be increased by studying the diversity between genotypes and successfully utilizing them in selection and hybridization program. Fifteen wheat germplasm were taken in this study and evaluated for genetic diversity analysis. Genetic estimates like GCV, PCV, heritability and genetic advance were calculated. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and D2 statistics were conducted for different genotypes and traits understudy. Significant differences were observed for different traits under ANOVA. Fifteen genotypes were divided into six clusters based on D2 statistics. These studies show that crosses between the Cluster V & VI and cluster III & VI will give maximum number of segregants and thus is good for varietal improvement.
