Abstract
In this paper, friction stir welding process of high-density polyethylene was studied. Two tools have been chosen, concave and plate, to explore the influence of the tool on the welding quality of the material. In addition, different parameters, rotational speed and welding speed, were investigated. Tensile tests were performed after welding in order to determine the tensile strength efficiency. The greatest ultimate tensile strength was found for the plates welded by concave shoulder.
