Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is one of the most indispensable vegetable which is cultivated and consumed throughout the world. Tomato is preferred raw as salad and in the processed form such as ketchup, paste, soup, puree etc. by all the age groups. A substantial amount of synteny is observed between the genomes of cultivated and wild tomato species (Chetelat and Ji, 2007).
