摘要
•Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) is responsible for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)- related systemic hypertension (HTN).•OSA is associated to resistant HTN justifying the research on novel targets.•Blockade of the overactivated aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) reverted the HTN associated to CIH.•Blockade of AHR pathway prevented the increase in blood pressure induced by CIH.•Targeting AHR might be a relevant strategy to treat hypertension associated to CIH and OSA.
