A LCMS-based untargeted lipidomics analysis of cleft palate in mouse

•Our lipidomics analysis revealed 29 discriminant lipids in palatal tissue from RA-treated E13.5 mouse embryos.•The triglycerides that at increased levels reflected a defect in TG degradation and reduction of unsaturated free fatty acids.•The lipids involved in cell signaling and membranes might relate to proliferation, differentiation, migration and apoptosis of palatal-tissue cells.•We explored the global lipid landscape of cleft palate by untargeted-lipidomics analysis.
