摘要
India is the world's second largest country in aquaculture production according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and yet, the Aquaculture industry remains one of the most under explored and relatively unknown to the general public. A large portion of India's aquaculture production is from artificially setup tanks and ponds where high intensity farming is done with a high population density. In these conditions water parameters such as Dissolved Oxygen or pH value can drastically change over a few hours, if corrective measures are not taken it can prove fatal to the fish and a large loss will be incurred. It is therefore critical to monitor these vital parameters of the farm in real time and corrective measures be carried out if need be. Many farmers in India are largely unaware as to what parameters are crucial to aquatic life and how they should be maintained. This paper presents a plug-in device which monitors Dissolved Oxygen levels, pH values, Temperature and Turbidity of the farm and alerts the farmer when conditions deteriorate.
