摘要
•Demonstrate the feasibility of using the local CFD data for liquid holdup correlation development.•Column-averaged and local countercurrent flow patterns are investigated using the 3D particle-resolved CFD simulations.•Wall influence and entrance effect on velocity and solvent distribution are studied.•The local CFD data can significantly expand the parameter range for correlation development and validation.
