Application of Wavelet Denoising to High-Voltage (HV) Standard Lightning Impulse Waveforms in Standard IEC 61083-2

This paper describes the application of wavelet denoising technique in HV standard lightning impulse before its parameter evaluation. Some typical impulse waveforms are processed to test the suitability, which are produced by the last test date generator (TDG Edition 2.04) of IEC 61083-2. Results show that the wavelet transformation has a good denoising effect for the HV standard lightning impulse signals.
