Abstract
In this paper we introduced a fifth parameter to the existing 4-parameter Johnson distributions to generalize the behavioural pattern of its limiting distribution. The cumulative distribution function (cdf)of the obtained generalized Johnson's System of Distributions (GJSD) which is shape dependent was then partitioned to reflects sample variations and tail flexibility. The estimators of the parameters were obtained in closed form using maximum likelihood method and the least square approach. The properties of the obtained GJSD which includes its characteristics function, moments, Renyi entropy, survival function and hazard function along with its evidence of convergence were established. Various applications were considered to establish the workability of the obtained results. Codes were written in R environment for proper demonstration and reproducibility.
